We have an annual tradition in our family of going on a backpacking trip together with as many of us that can go over the age of 10. Rebekah got to go with us this year for her first time! We hiked the Uintas in Utah. Set up a base camp at Mohawk Lake and left our heavy packs there to go on day hikes. It was beautiful! Great times. Good Company. Making memories!

Backpacking in the Uintas

2nd Worst Thing in the World
Last week Uncle Jake and Aunt Tiffany let Eric ride in their car to our Bingham family reunion. They stopped to eat a hamburger and when ordering Eric said, "Don't get mustowd. I hate mustowd. It's the second wowst thing in the wowld." Curious, Uncle Jake and Aunt Tiff asked Eric, "It's the second worst thing? What's the first worst thing in the world?" To that Eric responded without missing a beat..."Satan."
We are glad that Eric has his priorities in order.

Abbie
Abbie has a thing about shoes. Whenever we have friends or cousins over to play or visit, she sizes them up quickly to decide if they are worth a little effort. Then she picks the right time to make her move. (Like when they decide to take off their shoes to jump on the tramp or play in the sandbox.) Then she quietly descends on the forgotten treasures... flip flops, high heels, cowgirl boots, sparkly sandals, light-ups,... If they strap or tie to feet in any way, they are game. This has been the case from the beginning. High heels are by far the most sought after. I have been given a lesson in how to categorize them... If they make a "click" when you walk on the hardwood, they qualify. (This excludes clogs and thick soled shoes that clomp instead of click.) Occasionally we have to test them out on the floor before they can be donned for the day.
Yesterday we came home to find a pair of hand me down shoes at our door for her. She came running in to show Gary with the words..." DAD, THESE ARE FRICKIN RETARTED COOL SHOES!"
I guess they qualified!

I've never seen so much wildlife in Yellowstone! Amazing!

Yellowstone!
Well, I guess it's about time that I did something about this blog. This is a picture at Yellowstone this week during our family reunion! (We are missing Bryan and Gary.)
